((Dated to a few hours after the hostage crisis is resolved! Also, Angua was transformed for almost the entire flood, so feel free to have had your character spot her as a wolf... or spot her running around in the nude when not transformed, because hers doesn't work with clothes.))

[Angua is looking sleepy, but annoyed, her face slightly puffy as she rubs at her eyes.]

Honestly, there are times I think I just shouldn't sleep around here. Ever.

Next person to try something like that gets... well, you won't like it, all right?

[She forces herself to relax a little, shaking out her mussed hair.] Listen, I had a thought about the port I want to talk with you about. Have you got a minute?

My inmate needs a pet with actual lungs, Admiral. I'd like to requisition some kind of small rodent for Satsuki Yatouji. With a cage and all the... accoutrements, please. A hamster will probably do.

Nintendo. It's a video game from Earth. That's a controller for it - it's just plastic. No actual danger unless you're one of the brain tumor weirdos.

[Perhaps predictably for anyone who isn't Dean, she goes rigid at the sight of the "gun," almost visibly bristling, mouth thinning to a tight line.]

People weren't kidding when they said it was eventful around here.

I hate to be cruel, but that was pretty tame for this place. [Of course, she didn't have very much trouble navigating...] I'd always rather the walls change than the people, personally.

I can handle it. Back home if there's not some prophecy warning of the world's end, there's some demon trying to take over half the city. I thought the "flood" was kind of fun. [Not every day you get to be like Indiana Jones.]

Oh, yes. You Earther lot and your demons...

Don't forget zombies, angry spirits, and crazy cultists.

Yes, but we have those, too. Only the zombies are usually just a bit awkward to talk to, the spirits are in bottles, and the cultists rarely leave the Isle of Gods.

Somehow I doubt that's going to discourage them. Maybe we should all just start sleeping in shifts. Get one of the scientists to come up with some caffeine patch without horrible side effects.

Although gods, I would not say no to a decent coffee.

There has to be some world where someone's developed a sleep substitute that actually works without making you basically useless a couple days later.

Well, there is Klatchian coffee... but trust me, no one here wants to mess with that.
