((Dated to a few hours after the hostage crisis is resolved! Also, Angua was transformed for almost the entire flood, so feel free to have had your character spot her as a wolf... or spot her running around in the nude when not transformed, because hers doesn't work with clothes.))

[Angua is looking sleepy, but annoyed, her face slightly puffy as she rubs at her eyes.]

Honestly, there are times I think I just shouldn't sleep around here. Ever.

Next person to try something like that gets... well, you won't like it, all right?

[Private to Satsuki]

[She forces herself to relax a little, shaking out her mussed hair.] Listen, I had a thought about the port I want to talk with you about. Have you got a minute?

[Private to the Admiral]

My inmate needs a pet with actual lungs, Admiral. I'd like to requisition some kind of small rodent for Satsuki Yatouji. With a cage and all the... accoutrements, please. A hamster will probably do.

[Dean takes a minute to reply, and when he finally does, it's with a short clip from his video with Prefect showing Scrad and Charlie waving around the "gun" while talking to Narvin.]

Nintendo. It's a video game from Earth. That's a controller for it - it's just plastic. No actual danger unless you're one of the brain tumor weirdos.

[Perhaps predictably for anyone who isn't Dean, she goes rigid at the sight of the "gun," almost visibly bristling, mouth thinning to a tight line.]

Like laser tag. More fake guns for children.

[That is a true story - ironically, he was trying to be reassuring in his way. There wasn't any real danger to Prefect.

Dean raises an eyebrow.]

Well, and gamer nerds, yeah. These don't shoot anything at all, though, just radio signals to the console. And they're not the normal controllers.

[She grits her teeth; it takes a second.]

[Dean waits, aware he screwed up somehow but not how, and lets her go whichever way she's going to go.

Admittedly, though, he blows out a breath when she doesn't bite his head off or hang up on him.

You get through the flood alright?

[Fine, subject change, great. She runs a hand through her fluffed-up hair and rolls her shoulders, trying to loosen up some of the tension. Things are civil with Dean right now. She can manage that.]

Yes, it was more or less uneventful, the obvious aside. I did rescue George Crabtree from a well, although-- you don't know a Timmy on board, do you?

[JUST THAT HE DOESN'T LIKE UNCOMFORTABLE, ANGUA.]

[Dean actually gives it some thought before shaking his head.]

Tim Drake, or there's a new inmate named Tommy. That's it. Why?

No, the new inmate was the one who said it-- [She knows you, kid. You smell weird. She keeps meaning to have a talk with you about it. :|] --and I don't think it was Mr. Drake, or I would have found him. But he said there was also someone named Timmy in the well. George-- Constable Crabtree and I were at a loss.

...Oh.

[Dean tries really hard not to laugh when it clicks, and does succeed to keeping it down to a snort and a smirk that he drops his face to hide because seriously he JUST managed to avoid a spat. But he's still Dean. It's still funny, okay.]

It's from a TV show - Lassie? She was this super kickass collie that kept having to save the kid that owned her, Timmy, from all sorts of ridiculous, dumbass shit. He'd get into trouble - like falling down a well - and she'd have to run home and get help, or tip a board in so he could climb out, stuff like that.

...[F-l-a-t.] I see.

[To be fair, if that's true, Tommy was almost certainly making fun of George and not her. Which should not really be legitimate, either, but...]

[Goddammit Dean is not good at this all on his own other people stop getting him in trouble.

Oh, he's fine. [Pause.] ...I imagine.

You weren't there when you pulled him out?

Well, I wasn't the one doing the pulling, but yes, I was there. I meant I'm sure he's... recovered. From the deeply traumatic well experience. [She may have seen to that personally.]

[Dean's met George - he doesn't seem like the repressing type.

Or the traumatized type, strangely.

Dean should talk to George more often.]

Awesome. Did you... [Hm.] I think I saw you. [A lot of you.] A couple times. Is there... My door is usually unlocked. If you can find it, you can borrow. Things.

...Yes. Well. I usually keep awkward-pause things hidden about, but they all disappeared when the Barge changed.

I borrowed a jacket for a bit, but I spent a great deal of time tracking, anyway...

Some of the other wardens told me you were a great help during the port. Can I ask what prompted you to contribute?

It seemed likely that if the barge was not repaired promptly I and everyone else would be violently killed.

[Welp. Valid, though.] And you cared about the "everyone else" bit?

I doubt I would have been able to repair the barge on my own. [ That's a no :| ]
