[There's a distinct pause, and then she switches; her voice isn't exactly slurred, but there's a hint that a pint or two has gone down her throat.]

Got that part. [She's actually a little concerned. Cause, when has Angua ever gone to Buffy about anything non-fight-y? And since when does Angua get drunk? Well, when she's Angua-Angua. Not.. Flood.. Angua. Oh.]

People say these things as if it makes sense, you see. 'Let's play laser tag.' Oh, of course.

That's a majority thing. Easier to poll the people who don't know and explain it once or twice than field about eighty-seven "Yes I know what that is" comments.

Yes, but then it gets explained to me as 'oh, Angua, we're just going to shoot each other with great big guns that don't hurt people' and believe me, someday, someone is going to regret saying something like that.

I think people already have. [The comment is wry, but he shakes his head, lets the grin fade just a bit because he saw the conversation she had with Art about guns, how upset she was. It's part of the reason he's checking in now.]

Lasers in and of themselves are harmless. They're beams of light, nothing more and nothing less. It's when the power starts getting piled on that there's problems, but you probably know more about that than I do, now. [He nods to the book.]

But that's the problem with anything. Some asshole somewhere is gonna make us regret everything eventually.

The trouble is where to begin, I suppose. How much do we assume a person knows?
