Entry 3: Video

[Angua's communicator suddenly switches on, first to staticky audio and the sound of muttering, then to a jumble of video as she -- or whoever is holding it -- manhandles it. For a few seconds, the walls and floor jump around on the screen. Finally, a face comes into view.

It's not a pleasant face.

It's a young boy (maybe -- it might be a monkey), covered in grime, with a greasy top hat pulled low on his head. He stares at the communicator and grins with a mouth full of jagged teeth.]

Cor -- what's this do, then?

((So Angua has become the young Nobby Nobbs, generally of the Watch and specifically from the book Night Watch. Nobby has been around since the start of the flood, poking around the Barge and probably picking pockets left and right. He may also have tried to get your character to pay him to stop following them around. Feel free to have had your character be affected by any of this.))

I didn't do nuffin'! [This is an automatic reaction, because he knows he did.]

That so? And if I were to empty your pockets, what might I find?

You can't do that, Watchman! I got my rights!

[cartergetsyou]

And I got a reasonable suspicion. I've had my eye on you, lad.

[scentbombed]

I didn't do nuffin'!

Is that what you call introducing your fingers to a gent's pockets, is it?

They were calling out to me, like! I was just trying to be friendly, Mister.

[cartergetsyou]

We'll see how friendly you got with the odd coin and handkerchief when I find you, my lad.

[And now the picture moves a bit and you have the sound of Abberline setting off through the halls at speed to try and find young Nobby.]

[scentbombed]

[Nobby isn't very smart, but he is cunning, and as soon as he figures out why the picture's gone all funny, he starts fumbling to try to turn his off. Now he's audio-only, and there's the sound of movement on his end.]

Just try it, Watchman!

(Assume Abberline vs. Nobby cat and mouse throughout the flood?)
