You know, I used to roll my eyes at this sort of thing back home, but I have to admit, you all seem a great deal calmer and happier with it than without it.

Anyway, I've been doing a bit of reading up on Earth springtime, and some of it sounds a bit smutty (Maypoles, really?) but I... do like this whole idea of starting over, change, all that.

Well... you're a man... I suppose I was wondering what you really think of all this Valentine's stuff?

I certainly am. [So glad you noticed.] I think it's excellent. It has been wonderful to see everyone in such good spirits. Even the fact that I suspect someone is trying to kill me hasn't gotten me down.

No, I mean, would you-- wait, what? Who's trying to kill you?

Oh, I'm not sure, but I've gotten a threatening note, and something was fired at me, and I've been feeling as though something was watching me for days. I suspect ghosts.

Good gods, George. You don't have any... other... suspects? [Look, she may be a werewolf, but she draws the line at ghosts.]

Not as yet, I'm afraid.

Well. If it were from someone I wasn't interested in romantically, I would still consider it a nice gesture.

And... what if it was from someone who wanted to be...?

I...suppose it depends. Perhaps...I might give it a shot.

Really? Fantastic. That's a great relief to hear.

But he's there, and I'm here, and lately there's been someone I just... [She sighs.] I just can't seem to stop thinking about. I'm trying to say that that doesn't matter any more, George. Anyway, he'll be fine without me. He always is.
